The Global Reality
Today, an estimated 2 million pastors in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East have either very limited or no access whatsoever to any form of theological training.
More than 1,000 new pastors are needed per day to serve the 50,000 new believers that are baptized every day around the world.
The Purpose of GLD
The Global Leadership Development Initiative works through strategic alliances, partnerships and all forms of media and communication to foster, support and promote the exampsion of conservative, Baptist theological education around the globe, strengthening and complemneting the Mission of the Church in the fulfilment of the Great Commission.
Our Mission
To cultivate and develop networks of strategic alliances and international partnerships with
likeminded Baptist schools and leadership, restoring, strengthening and supporting the historic,
biblical, Southern Baptist doctrine, heritage and influence in theological education and discipleship
worldwide.
Our Vision
To undergird and strengthen global, Baptist theological education, reaching, teaching, and equipping
the next generation of international theological educators, pastors, missionaries and church leaders.
Our Work Around the World
Today, GLD is engaged either formally or informalling with more than 100 Baptist seminaries worldwide, representated by more than 160 campuses and extension locations on 6 cotninents, and more than 80 nations, and helping to start 11 new Baptist seminaries in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Central & Southern Asia. And the requests for help keep coming….
